Flush Trimmer Adjustment and Troubleshooting
Understanding the Flush Trimmer
- The flush trimmer consists of upper and lower cutter heads.
- The upper cutter head is raised and lowered by the panel feeder.
- Dial indicators measure the cutting depth.
Adjusting the Flush Trimmer
- Access the trimmer: Remove the cover for better visibility.
- Identify the problem: Determine if the issue is with the top or bottom edge of the edge banding.
- Adjust the top trimmer:
- Loosen the lock nuts on either side of the top trimmer.
- Use a 4mm hex wrench to turn the cap screws clockwise (when looking at the top of the cap screw head) to raise the tracer wheel.
- Reset the dial indicator to match the new cutting depth.
- Tighten the lock nuts.
- Adjust the bottom trimmer:
- Check the guide rod for proper positioning of the lower cutter head.
- Loosen the locking collar on the guide rod.
- Adjust the assembly up or down as needed.
- Tighten the locking collar.
Troubleshooting
- Ensure proper edge banding alignment: Check that the edge banding is correctly positioned before adjusting the flush trimmer.
- Inspect for damage: Examine the flush trimmer components for any wear or damage.
- Test adjustments gradually: Make small adjustments and test the results before making further changes.
By following these steps and carefully inspecting the flush trimmer components, you can effectively adjust and troubleshoot the machine to achieve accurate edge banding results.
Note: Always refer to your machine's manual for specific instructions and safety precautions.
