This video discusses the Glue Pot and Fotek Controller on our Automatic Edgebanders. We've also included the step-by-step instructions so you can follow along with the video.
Glue Pot Assembly and Operation
Glue Pot Components:
- Glue Pot Cover: Holds glue pellets.
- Spindle Assembly: Applies glue to the board edge.
- Glue Flow Knob: Controls glue application rate.
- Fotek Controller: Regulates glue temperature.
- KM6 Contactor: Controls glue pot heating.
- Motor Assembly: Drives the glue spindle.
- Junction Box: Houses wiring for the heater assembly.
Glue and Glue Level:
- Use Joewat T27707 glue for optimal performance.
- Maintain a glue level approximately 3/4 inch from the top of the glue pot.
- Keep the lid on the glue pot to prevent contamination.
Glue Pot Operation:
- Temperature Control: The Fotek controller sets and monitors glue temperature.
- Heating: The KM6 contactor activates the heater when needed.
- Spindle Activation: Once the glue reaches 170-180 degrees, the spindle motor will turn on.
- Glue Application: The spindle applies glue to the board edge based on the glue flow setting.
Troubleshooting:
- No Heating: Check the KM6 contactor, wiring, and Fotek controller settings.
- No Spindle Operation: Verify door switches, pressure switch, and glue temperature.
- Glue Clogging: Clean roller assemblies and edge seat assembly regularly.
Additional Tips:
- Avoid using glue types other than Joewat T27707.
- Regularly check for air leaks in the air supply system.
- Follow the machine's manual for specific instructions and safety guidelines.
By understanding these components and procedures, you can effectively operate and maintain your glue pod assembly for optimal edge banding results.
Note: Always refer to your machine's manual for detailed instructions and troubleshooting information.
