Installing Additional Eccentrics on G0555 Band Saw
Note: These steps are only required when using an 1/8" wide blade.
Preparation
- Gather tools: Prepare necessary tools for removing and installing components.
- Power off: Disconnect the band saw from the power source.
Removing Old Eccentrics
- Access eccentrics: Remove the cap screws holding the guide bearings and the 3/8 inch eccentrics.
Installing New Eccentrics
- Replace eccentrics: Remove the old eccentrics and replace them with the new pair designed for the 1/8 inch blade.
- Secure eccentrics: Tighten the side cap screw to lock the new eccentrics in place.
- Reattach bearings: Reinstall the guide bearings and secure them with the cap screws.
Blade Replacement
- Access blade: Open the upper and lower doors to expose the blade and wheels.
- Remove table components: Remove the table pin and table insert.
- Release tension: Decrease the blade tension.
- Remove old blade: Remove the old 3/8 inch blade.
- Install new blade: Install the 1/8 inch blade and tension it properly.
Final Adjustments
- Adjust blade guides: Adjust the upper and lower blade guides according to the manual's instructions for the 1/8 inch blade.
