- Choose a location: Select a suitable spot for your lathe, considering the provided clearance specifications in the owner's manual.
- Unpack the lathe: Remove the shipping crate top, sides, and any internal packing materials.
- Remove shipping brackets: Carefully remove the shipping brackets from the lathe legs.
- Position the legs: Place the legs approximately 57.75 inches apart (inside to inside).
- Lift the lathe: With assistance, carefully lift the lathe onto the legs, ensuring even weight distribution and alignment of mounting holes.
- Secure the lathe: Attach the lathe to the legs using the provided cap screws and lock washers.
- Optional: Bolt to the floor: If desired, permanently bolt the lathe to the floor according to the owner's manual.
- Use adjustable feet: If using adjustable feet, lift one end of the lathe and install the feet. Repeat for the other side.
- Level the lathe: Use a level to ensure the lathe is level side to side and front to back. Tighten the hex nuts on the adjustable feet.
- Install tool rest: Insert the tool rest base into the lathe bed, securing it with the T-mount and lock nut.
- Attach tool rest: Insert the tool rest into the tool rest base and secure it in place.
- Mount storage basket: Attach the storage basket bracket to the stand and install the basket.
- Attach hand wheel: Secure the hand wheel handle to the tailstock.
- Test run: Conduct a test run of the lathe to ensure proper operation.
- Refer to manual: Consult the owner's manual for additional instructions and safety guidelines.
