Step-by-Step Guide to Adjusting or Resetting the Tension Rod
Safety First:
- Always unplug the bandsaw before performing any adjustments.
Steps to Adjust or Reset the Tension Rod:
- Disconnect the bandsaw from power.
- Release tension lever: Move the blade tension quick release lever to the right (tension position).
- Loosen lower nuts: Use two 14mm wrenches to loosen the lower nuts on the tension rod shaft.
- Raise lower nuts: Turn the lower nuts upward on the shaft to move them out of the way.
- Release blade tension: Move the blade tension quick release lever to the left (release position).
- Fully release tension: Continue turning the tension knob counterclockwise until all tension is released and the sliding housing moves downward.
- Install new blade: If necessary, install a new or different blade.
- Apply initial tension: Turn the tension knob clockwise to remove slack from the blade.
- Engage quick release lever: Move the blade tension quick release lever back to the right (tension position).
- Complete tensioning: Continue turning the tension knob to achieve the desired tension based on the blade width indicator.
- Check blade tracking: Ensure the blade tracks in the center of the wheels. Adjust tracking if necessary using the black knob on the back of the saw.
- Secure lower nuts: Lower the two nuts until they contact the top of the sliding housing.
- Tighten lower nuts: Turn the lower nuts up two to three turns and tighten them securely with the wrenches.
Your bandsaw is now ready for use with the adjusted tension rod.
