What are the speed ranges? Our knife-making belt sander/grinder has a speed range between 100 - 3200 RPM. You can locate more details about this machine by navigating to the "Product Links" and selecting the "Specification Sheet."
Are there 220 or 600-grit belts available? We do have the following options available: T33775 220 Grit Silicon Carbide, T33776 400 Grit Silicon Carbide, and T33777 600 Grit Silicon Carbide.
Is the motor reversible? The motor on the T32459 is not reversible.
Is it possible to use the wheel in the back for hollow grinds? Using the back roller for a hollow grind is not recommended due to the upward direction of the belt, which could cause grinding debris to be directed toward the operator. This could pose a safety risk, and we advise against it.
Can this machine take 2x48 belts? The sander/grinder is specified for use with a 2" x 42" belt. We attempted to use a 48" belt, and although it fits, the adjustment arm extends almost to its limit. We are unsure how well it will perform with this size of belt. Since the machine is designed for a 42" belt, we cannot recommend using a different size.
How loud is it? The sander/grinder does not have a sound rating due to variations that can occur depending on the material being ground, as well as the type and grit of the sandpaper used.
Are there attachments like a small wheel or contact wheel available or plans to release one? Currently, there are no intentions to provide additional wheels.
Do the belt wheels have bearings or bushings? The wheels are equipped with ball bearings.
How many sanding belts come with the machine? The machine includes one 2" x 42" 120-grit silicon carbide belt.
Can you put a contact wheel on the tooling arm? We are not aware of any methods to add additional accessories. Adding a contact wheel would constitute modifying the machine, and we are unable to provide any guidance on such modifications.
Are there any additional attachments available? Currently, we do not have any attachments available. As this is a newly launched machine, there is a possibility that attachments may be introduced in the future.
Are there plans for a 2 x 72 Belt Grinder as it is better suited for knife making? We currently offer the G1015 Grizzly Knife Grinder, Sander, and Buffer. This machine has a 72" sanding belt and may align with your needs. We recommend reaching out to our Product Support team via phone to discuss the specific details of your job. Our dedicated team is eager to assist you in identifying the most suitable options tailored to your needs.
How large are each of the wheels on this grinder? Idler wheels and drive wheels. Additionally, are they crowned or flat? The specifications include wheel diameters of 2" and 5", both featuring a slight crown.
Is it possible to downsize and run a 1" belt instead of a 2" on this for more detailed work? The sander was designed exclusively for a 2" wide sanding belt, and as of now, we have not conducted any experiments involving the use of a smaller sanding belt.
What is the motor size? This Knife Making Belt Sander includes a 3/4 HP motor that operates on 110V.
What is the duty cycle on the machine in optimum conditions? This machine lacks a designated duty cycle rating, and there is also no specified optimum ratio.
Should the LED flash even when the machine is off? The LED will blink to indicate that it has power, and this is a normal operation.
Will there be an option of a 1hp motor in the future? As the T32459 Sander/Grinder is a newly introduced product, we currently do not possess information about any potential motor upgrades in the future.
Can I mount this on the ceiling? Will it operate upside-down? Mounting the machine from the ceiling is not feasible due to the inability to invert the part support. Such usage would be beyond the intended purpose of the machine, and we strongly advise against it.
Is the motor AC or DC? This is a universal motor with brushes designed to operate on 110V DC power. It incorporates a circuit board that transforms the power supply and facilitates speed control.
Does this have any warranty? Grizzly products have a 1-year warranty.
Does the machine come assembled? The machine is shipped mostly assembled, and the estimated setup and assembly time is approximately 15 minutes. We provide a 1-year warranty for every product bearing the "Grizzly" brand, valid from the date of purchase/shipment to the original purchaser.
Is there an option for a contact wheel? The Sander/Grinder does not offer an alternative contact wheel option beyond the one included with the machine.
How long is the work arm and can it be extended forward enough to allow the use of a 48" belt instead of 42"? The belt sander/grinder is designed to accommodate only 42" belts.
Is it a 3-phase motor or single phase? This is a 3/4 HP, 110V, single-phase, 7.8A Motor.
What are the dimensions of the base mount? The dimensions of the base are 14" x 9.5".
What is the length of the Platen? The platen measurement is 2 1/4" x 5 1/2".
What are the dimensions of the slide-out bars for the platen and the table? The slide-out bars have dimensions slightly less than 5/16" x 7/8", with the upper bar measuring 8" and the bottom bar measuring 11".

Can it change/reverse direction? The T32459 does not change direction.
Where is the machine made? This is manufactured in China.
Can the pulley wheel guards be removed to use the wheels as a sanding surface? The guards are in place for safety and we cannot recommend removing them. If removed, sanding in those regions could lead to the belt losing traction and potentially disengaging from the machine.
Are there other attachments that can be installed in place of the platen? The platen, identified by part number PT32459037, can be taken off. However, we don't offer any alternative attachments to replace it. The platen serves the crucial role of supporting the sanding belt, and its presence is necessary for the machine to function correctly.
