How long does assembly take?
Assembly and setup typically take about 30 minutes.
Where is the G4176 manufactured?
This power feeder is made in Taiwan under ISO 9001 quality standards.

Motor & Power
What are the electrical requirements?
-
120V, Single-Phase, 60 Hz
-
Full-load current: 2.5A
-
Minimum circuit: 15A
-
Prewired voltage: 120V
-
Connection: Cord & plug (power cord included, plug type 5-15)
-
Switch: Forward/Reverse
What type of motor does it use?
1/4 HP, single-phase, 1660 RPM TEFC capacitor-start induction motor with sealed, permanently lubricated bearings.
How is power transferred to the rollers?
Through a gear drive system.
Feed & Rollers
What are the feed wheel dimensions?
The feed wheels are 1-1/8" wide and 3-1/16" in diameter.
How many feed speeds does the machine have?
Four feed speeds: 18 FPM, 25 FPM, 30 FPM, and 41 FPM.
How do you change feed speeds?
-
Remove the side cover of the unit to access the gear compartment.
-
Swap the change gears according to the desired speed setting.
-
Refer to the Owner’s Manual for gear arrangement diagrams.
What is the vertical and horizontal movement of the feeder head?
-
Vertical movement: 6-1/2"
-
Horizontal movement: 10"
How do you feed tall or thin mouldings?
Swivel the feeder head so it lays flat. This allows the drive wheels to feed along the fence instead of the table, providing better control and preventing tipping of narrow stock.
Why do I need a power feeder?
A power feeder ensures consistent pressure and feed rate, which reduces hesitation and prevents divots or uneven cuts, especially on long mouldings.
Mounting & Use
Where should I mount the power feeder?
Mount it so it is out of the way of your workpiece but still allows room to adjust the feeder head for height and alignment.
How difficult is it to mount the power feeder?
-
Drilling bolt holes with nuts and washers underneath is the quickest and most secure method.
-
Tapping holes may not provide sufficient strength depending on the table’s thickness.

What kind of oil is used in the gearbox?
Use 90-weight gear oil. Recommended:
-
Grizzly T28042 Armor Plate with Moly-D XHP Gear Oil
-
Or a suitable 90-weight gear oil from a local auto parts or hardware store
