What are the electrical requirements for the G9740 and G9740Z planers?
Both models operate on 220V or 440V, 3-phase, 60 Hz power. They come prewired for 220V, with the following specifications:
- Full-load current: 24A at 220V, 12A at 440V
- Minimum circuit size: 30A at 220V, 15A at 440V
- Power cord: 4 ft., 10 AWG
- Plug type: Corded connection at 220V
A voltage conversion kit (P97400120-11) is available for switching to 440V. For shops without 3-phase power, we recommend the G7979 phase converter.
What motors are used in the G9740 series planers?
These planers feature three separate motors:
- Main motor: 7.5 HP, 3450 RPM, belt drive
