Can I turn metal or other non-wood materials with your wood lathes?
Our wood lathes are designed specifically for turning natural woods, wood-based products, and certain wood-bonding agents. While they may physically turn other materials, doing so can be dangerous. Attempting to turn metal or other non-wood materials can result in serious injury, damage the machine, and void the warranty.
Why do some machines list the voltage as 110V, 115V, or 120V? Aren’t these the same?
Yes and no. All of these voltages typically refer to the same standard household power in the U.S., and any machine labeled with one of these will operate on a standard outlet. The variation comes from regional naming conventions—some countries list 110V, others 115V or 120V, even though the actual supplied voltage varies only slightly. We list the voltage shown on the motor’s nameplate to give you the most accurate and consistent information, avoiding confusion when your machine arrives.
