Can I put a 3-jaw chuck on this machine? Yes, you can. However, be aware that a heavy 3-jaw chuck requires significant power to rotate.

Does this machine come with a live center? Yes, it does.

Does this machine come with any chisels? No, it does not. However, Grizzly offers a wide variety of turning chisels that are available for purchase.  

How big is the bore through the spindle? The spindle bore is 3/8".

What is the capacity of the lathe? The lathe has a 5-15/16" swing and a 12" distance between centers.

What is the thread size on the main spindle? The thread size is 3/4" - 16 right-hand.

Is the spur center threaded or held on with a Morse taper? The spur center is held on with a Morse taper #1.

Is a larger tool rest available? No, we only supply the G5967 with a 3" tool rest.
