Can I run molding knives in my G7213 Planer?
No, there isn't enough clearance around the cutterhead, nor is there sufficient adjustment in the infeed roller.
What type of feed rollers does it have?
The infeed roller is a segmented steel roller, and the outfeed roller is a solid, smooth steel roller.
What size breaker do I need to operate this planer?
A 30 Amp circuit breaker is required.
Where can I get a reducer to go from the 5" dust port on the machine to my 4" hose?
We recommend running a 5" hose from the planer to your dust collector. If you need to reduce to a 4" hose, you can obtain a 5" to 4" stovepipe reducer from most hardware stores and then connect a 4" hose to the dust collector.
What are the CFM requirements for a dust collector?
This depends on factors like distance to the collector, moisture content of the wood, and depth of cut. For distances of 10 feet or less, a dust collector with as little as 450 CFM may work. When sizing a collector, bigger is generally better.
How are the planer knives adjusted?
Planer knives are adjusted with jackscrews. Adjustment springs are also supplied for those who prefer them over jackscrews.
How many knives are in the cutterhead?
Three knives.
How fast does this planer feed lumber?
The planer feeds lumber at 24 feet per minute.
What is the maximum depth of cut?
The maximum depth of cut is 1/8".
What is the maximum width and height of cut?
The maximum width of cut is 24", and the maximum cutting height is 8".
What is the minimum stock thickness and length?
The minimum stock thickness is 1/4", and the minimum stock length is 7-1/2".
How fast does the cutterhead rotate?
The cutterhead speed is 5200 RPM, producing 39.4 cuts per inch and 15,600 cuts per minute.
What is the feed rate?
The feed rate is 20 feet per minute.
What are the overall dimensions and shipping weight of the planer?
The table measures 31-1/2" x 24", overall height is 37", depth is 33", and width is 27-1/2". The footprint is 30" L x 20-1/2" W. Shipping weight is 1030 lbs., and the crate measures 42-1/2" L x 36" W x 45" H.
What type of motor does this planer have?
The planer uses a TEFC capacitor-start induction motor with 7-1/2 HP. It is three-phase, 220/440V, drawing 20/10 amps, and runs at 3450 RPM.
How is power transferred to the cutterhead?
Power is transferred via a two-belt drive system.
What are the bearings in the cutterhead?
The cutterhead uses shielded and permanently lubricated ball bearings.
What are the construction materials for the table and rollers?
The table is precision-ground cast iron. The infeed rollers are steel, and the outfeed roller is fine-finished steel. The cutterhead is built with three knife slots and shielded ball bearings with grease fittings.
What additional features does the G7213 include?
The planer includes lever-controlled bed rollers, a segmented chip breaker and infeed roller, table locks, a 5" collar chip chute, and both inch and metric measurement scales.
