What accessories does the machine come with? The G1495 comes with a live center, spur center, 6" faceplate, 4" x 6" pneumatic sanding drum, 2" wide flap sander, outside tool rest, outside 8" sanding disc, and sanding table.
How much air pressure should be used in the pneumatic drum sander? 10 PSI or less. A bicycle pump works well and will ensure the drum is not overinflated.
Where is the motor located? Unlike many other lathes, the motor is located inside the cabinet under the headstock.
In the specifications it says “swing over gap is 17”. What is the gap? The gap is the small open area in the bed casting between the headstock and the bed surface itself. The gap allows extra clearance for inside plate turning.
I have the G1194 3-Jaw Chuck for my lathe. I'm trying to use the jaws in the reversed position. When I do, the jaws won't center the workpiece. What's wrong? When reversing the jaws, you need to switch the positions of the number 1 and number 3 jaws as described in the instructions.
Can I do “outboard” turning on this lathe? Yes, but the object will have to be relatively light. It's great for plate work.
