Can I replace the factory bag with a plastic garbage bag? While a plastic garbage bag might make dust disposal easier, it will reduce the effective filter area. This will, in turn, decrease the cubic feet per minute (CFM) airflow, so it is not recommended.
What micron bags are included with the machine? The bags that come with the machine have a 30-micron rating.
How many different machines can I hook up to this unit? This dust collector is rated at 500 CFM, which is suitable for one average-sized machine like a 10" table saw. This dust collector is designed to be moved from one machine to another as needed. To maintain the best efficiency, keep the hose length as short as possible. This dust collector is not designed to handle machines like drum sanders or planers, which produce a much larger volume of dust.
What is the impeller made of? The impeller is made of steel.
What is the best way to install a ground wire on my system? The best practice is to run a bare copper wire through the inside of the hose, connecting the dust collector body to the body of the machine being used. Ensure good ground connections at both ends. Additionally, you should spiral an external wire around the outside of the hose every 6 to 8 inches and ground it to the bodies of both machines as well. For more detailed information, please refer to the Dust Collection Basics Handbook.
Can I use the dust collector to exhaust smoke and fine floating dust from my shop? The capture area at the end of the hose is very limited. This is why using a dust hood specifically designed for each machine is very important for effective dust collection right at the source.
Is airflow restricted if I put a smaller micron bag on the dust collector? Very little, if any. Even though smaller micron bags have smaller openings, they typically have a higher density of these openings per square inch, which minimizes airflow restriction.
How are the hoses attached to the G3376 Cyclone Separator? The separator lid is designed so that the hoses slide directly into it. No additional fittings are necessary for attachment.
