What's the difference between skip, hook, and raker toothed blades? Skip tooth blades have widely spaced teeth to prevent clogging, making them good for straight cuts like ripping. Hook tooth blades have a 10° rake angle, which causes the blade to cut more aggressively. This type of blade clears out chips quickly and is best for resawing. Raker tooth blades have teeth that are offset to the left and right, making them best for cutting circles and contours.
Will the saw cut straight using the fence? Yes, the fence can be adjusted parallel to the blade and the table. The cut should not deviate, provided the correct blade is being used.
