- What is the difference between tool steel and bi-metal blades?
Bi-metal blades are constructed of a tough high speed steel toothed edge welded to a flexible alloy backing. These blades generally last much longer than tool steel due their flexibility to withstand the stresses imposed by all bandsaws and the long lasting sharpness of high speed steel. - What is the difference between the raker and variable pitch blades?
Variable pitch blades, or variation in tooth spacing result in smoother, faster and quieter cutting. Raker tooth blades are used for cutting thick, solid metal pieces. - What kind of oil do I use in the gear box?
The gear box on this machine requires 90 weight gear oil. - What type of cutting fluid should I use?
Any type of water soluble oil will work. Grizzly offers H9240 heavy-duty soluble machining fluid concentrate for heavy-duty applications. - How do you change speeds on this machine?
This machine has a four-step pulley and V-belt system. To change speeds, the motor is unlocked and pivoted to release tension on the belt and the belt is then moved to the pulley step corresponding to the desired speed. Speed changes are quick and easy. - Will this machine do angle cuts?
