Yes, but only to a limited degree. Resawing performance depends on motor size, blade style, type of wood, and maximum cutting height. This is not a dedicated resaw machine.
19. Can I put a bigger motor on this machine?
Yes. The motor mount fits a standard NEMA 56 motor frame, and the motor pulley has a standard 5/8" bore. Grizzly carries a full selection of optional motors.
20. Can I order this machine without the motor?
No. Removing the stock motor would offset any savings due to labor costs.
21. Can I use this bandsaw for metal cutting?
No. Metal cutting requires blade speeds of 250 FPM or slower, depending on the metal. The G1019 runs at 3300 FPM, which is too fast for metal cutting.
