What kind of oil do I use in the gearbox?
The gearbox on this machine requires a 90 weight gear oil.
What type of cutting fluid should I use?
Any type of water-soluble oil will work. Grizzly offers H9240 heavy-duty machining fluid concentrate for heavy-duty applications.
Will this machine cut in the vertical position?
No. This machine cuts in the horizontal position only.
How do you change speeds on this machine?
This machine has a four-step pulley and V-belt system. To change speeds, the motor is unlocked and pivoted to release tension on the belt, which is then moved to the pulley step corresponding to the desired speed. Speed changes are quick and easy.
What kind of downfeed mechanism does this machine have?
This machine has an adjustable hydraulic cylinder to control the down feed rate.
Will this machine work well with stainless and cast iron?
Yes. While most cast iron can be cut dry, stainless should be cut with a fluid coolant.
What is the maximum cutting capacity of this bandsaw?
The G1011 can cut up to 7" round stock or 7" x 11 5⁄8" rectangular stock.
What sizes of blades does this saw use?
It uses 1" x 101" blades.
What are the blade speeds?
The saw offers four blade speeds: 63, 106, 156, and 206 FPM.
What type of motor does the G1011 have?
The saw has a 1 HP capacitor start induction run motor. It is single-phase, 60 Hz, prewired for 110V/220V, drawing 16/8 amps, and runs at 1725 RPM. The bearings are shielded, lubricated-for-life ball bearings.
What are the construction features of this bandsaw?
The main body is cast iron, the stand is formed and welded steel, and the wheels are cast iron. The worm gear box has hardened and ground gears, and the blade guides include seven ball bearings.
Does this saw have any special control or convenience features?
Yes. It has a centralized control panel on top of the saw bow, a heavy-duty one-piece steel base, an adjustable hydraulic down-feed with dial feed rate on the panel, a quick-release vise for fast job changes, and a built-in coolant system (tank not removable) that uses water-soluble fluid.
What are the overall dimensions?
The machine measures 63 1⁄4" long, 27" front to back, and 66 1⁄2" high (head in high position). The cutting height from the floor is 25 1⁄2".
What angle cuts can this machine make?
The G1011 can make angle cuts from 45° to 90°.
