Standard tooling accepts 3/8" shank tools
Optional accessory G5692 increases maximum shank size to 1/2"
Does the G0998 include a DRO?
No, the lathe does not include a DRO. Recommended options:

Can I cut hardened steel with this lathe?
No, the G0998 is designed for turning soft and medium metals, such as aluminum, brass, and mild steel. Hardened steel is not recommended.
Can I cut wood with this lathe?
No, this is a metal lathe, and running wood on it is not recommended due to low RPM and tooling differences.
How do I support long or thin workpieces?
Use the outboard spindle spider, which provides additional grip and stability for long shafts or thin stock.
